Jumping Jellybeans

February 4, 2008

On the 4th of this month we made our first visit to the Phoenix Perinatal Associates office. Begin diabetic, this pregnancy will be considered high risk and thus will endure increased monitoring and many, many ultrasounds. Our first visit confirmed that we do indeed have our own little jellybean!

A healthy diet, moderate exercise and an increase in the number of times I check my blood sugar will help keep this pregnancy as normal as possible.

On the 12th of this month we made a second visit to the perinatologists office and were amazed by how much our little bean has grown in little over a week. You can already make out the little nubby beginnings of arms and the head!

I feel so fortunate as I haven't had any of the typical pregnancy symptoms. And no morning sickness means it is much easier to keep food down and my blood sugars in control.

The Start of Something New

January 16th, 2008

While exploring the beautiful island of Maui I made a discovery that set in motion life altering events. Initially I shared it only with Scott, but we both agreed on the need to share it with everyone. Quick thinking and our giddy yet goofy attitudes resulted in the following....

...a scrawled message in the sand at sunset, with photo documentation of the discovery for proof later with family and friends.

Change is coming and we couldn't be happier about it!
