Baby's First Christmas

We spent Q's first Christmas in Phoenix this year. It was a nice, relaxing time with just our new immediate family. We had friends and family over for Christmas Eve dinner and then Grammy and Grumpy came over on Christmas morning too for a visit.

Scott found something for me...something I've been trying to find, for forever! A Star of David Christmas Tree Topper! Yeah for Christmakkah - Hanukkamas!

Nicole and Zahria celebrated Christmas Eve with us!

Lots of love from Grammy this holiday season!

Quentin's adorable hat Nicole made for him. She was worried it might be too small, but with a little pin head like Q, small is good!

A trip to Denver

We made another trip just a few weeks after Thanksgiving to Denver to celebrate aunt Melissa's graduation from her graduate program. It was a chilly but very fun trip and Quentin did great once again on the plane. Mom and dad are getting better and better at traveling with the little guy. Congrats aunt Melissa on a great accomplishment!!

Starting to get really smiley!

A Sacramento Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was celebrated in Sacramento at mom's sister's new house. It was so much fun getting Quentin together with his cousins, especially since his newest cousin is exactly 28 hours older than he. We took lots of pictures of side by side cousins, the first of many, I am sure. Q did great on the plane both there and back resulting in a great sigh of relief from mom and dad.
Resting with dad after Q's first plane ride.

Happy 2 Month Birthday!

Yesterday marked 2 months! Happy Birthday Quentin! We had our 2 month check-up today and the doc says everything looks great with the little guy. He's already weighing in at 12 and a half pounds (75th percentile), but has a little head like his mommy (10th percentile)! We are looking forward to taking our first airplane ride to Sacramento for Thanksgiving and to visit Aunties Leslie and Carolyn and meet the cousins!

Haning out with mommy.

Just relaxing on a Saturday morning.

All Smiles

Finally! We have reached the stage where we actually smile back at mommy and daddy. Somehow this little feat means so much. It makes the 2am diaper change and feeding more enjoyable when you get one of these open mouth, squinty eyed grins staring up at you from the changing table. Smile on little Quentin, smile on!

We have been seeing a pediatric opthamologist about Q's left eye. He has a condition know as congenital ptosis of the eye. Essentially the eyelid muscle is not strong enough to lift the lid completely up off the eye. Fortunately his vision has not been affected due to the fact that the lid can be lifted out of the way of the pupil. For right now we are going to wait and see if the lid strengthens with time. If it still has not corrected itself we will look into surgery to repair the lid, but not until he is 3 or 4 years old.

Oh Baby, Obama!

Hooray! The voters have spoken. Maybe there is hope for our future generations.

Here we are on election day feeling very patriotic and hoping people were exercising their right to vote.
Proudly wearing my 'Lil Democrat, Big Obama Fan' gear while the results started coming in. Ignore the fact that I spit up all over it. Mom forgot to put a bib on me, she was too excited about the big event.

Hanging out with my buddy Zahria ('Z') and her mommy Nicole. We watched the election coverage together. Z was very interested in me, despite the fact that I was crying.

Happy Halloween

In late October we had a visit from one of Mom's best friends, Lisa. It was so great to see her and catch up, and she helped take care of Quentin in so many ways.

Lisa was not afraid to get down and dirty with the Q man, changing many a dirty diaper for mom!

Quentin playing on his tummy time mat. After he rolls over he likes to look at all the animals that hang down from above. Thanks to Sharon for this fun gift.

Look at me! My left eye is getting better all on it's own!

My first Halloween. I helped mom and dad hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters dressed up as a 'Little Pumpkin'. I slept through most of it, but the neighbors all thought I was pretty cute!

Posing as a pumpkin.

Another in my pumpkin outfit my Grammy gave me. Happy Halloween everyone!

More Firsts!

Quentin is getting bigger and bigger. The pediatrician (and we) think he is a bit colicky. This has been trying at times for mommy and daddy, but we are getting more and more moments where he is alert and happy (not crying) which we relish. We are still learning the ropes and every week brings some new adventure or another!
Here is a LINK to more photos this month of Quentin on Snapfish.
